I was born in 1951 and brought up in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. I studied Sociology at the University of Sussex 1969 -
72.
Between 1973 - 1981 my family and I lived in Kenya, where I worked as a teacher in a secondary school. When we returned to the UK I began working as a residential social worker with children and
young people with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties. I became interested in counselling during this period and began my first counselling training at Crawley College (1989 - 1991) I
then embarked on my Gestalt Psychotherapy training at the Gestalt Centre, London (1990 - 1993, 1995 - 1998).
In 1992 I left the field of child care and became a counselling trainer on the Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling at West Kent College, Tonbridge. I became Course Leader in 1993. This course
was accredited with the BACP in 1998. I finished working at West Kent College in 2008. I was accredited as a counsellor with BACP in 1993 and was registered with the UKCP as a Gestalt Psychotherapist
in 1998. In 2009 I began a part time job teaching counselling at Tobias School of Arts and Therapy, in East Grinstead. I am currently working as a school counsellor at Copthorne Prep School and
Ardingly College.
I have a private practice, working from my home, where I offer both short and long term counselling and psychotherapy to
clients with a variety of presenting issues. I also work as a clinical supervisor. I have facilitated a number of groups run on Gestalt principles, both short and longer term. I create and deliver a
variety of CPD workshops to various organisations.
